Mr. Ketan Shah is a highly accomplished leader with over 30 years of experience in transaction advisory services across East Africa. As the Managing Partner of Grant Thornton Tanzania, he leads the firm’s Transaction Advisory division, specializing in infrastructure consulting and providing strategic solutions across various sectors. His expertise in facilitating impactful investments is pivotal in driving sustainable growth in Tanzania and the broader East African region.
Ketan has extensive experience in project preparation and structuring at both national and local government levels. He has worked closely with development financial institutions such as the World Bank and has collaborated with public and private sector entities to assess project viability, structure investments, and foster collaboration for successful and sustainable outcomes. His deep understanding of the dynamics of public-private partnerships (PPPs) has been key in unlocking opportunities for large-scale infrastructure development.
Beyond his role at Grant Thornton, Ketan is a founding member and Chairman of the Africa Transformation Initiative, an NGO focused on sustainable development and community empowerment. He also serves as a trustee for the Empowering Farmers Foundation, working on projects that enhance the livelihoods of farmers and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
In addition to his advisory work, Ketan is an experienced speaker who has contributed to several high-profile forums. He was a speaker at the U.S.-Africa Public-Private Partnerships for Infrastructure Workshop, where he shared his expertise on effective collaboration between public and private sectors in driving infrastructure projects.
